Mon Cheri Bridals LLC was formed in July of 1991. CEO, Stephen Lang’s goals for Mon Cheri were to excel as a leading bridal gown and wedding dress manufacturer by not only providing quality products but also through exceptional customer relations. Wedding dresses were only the beginning for Mon Cheri; today, the company produces over twenty branded special occasion product lines worldwide.
Mon Cheri has been a leader in the bridal and special occasion industries since the beginning. A unique feature that gave Mon Cheri a competitive edge early on was the use of color on traditional bridal gowns. Mon Cheri’s introduction of the colors Rum Pink, Blush and Café quickly caught on in the marketplace, inspiring numerous other manufacturers to add color to their own bridal collections.
Shortly after the start of the company, Mon Cheri Flower Girls were added to accent the unique styling of its bridal fashions. In 1997, Stephen saw a need in the marketplace for mother of the bride/ mother of the groom dress suits, cocktail dresses, ball gowns, formal dresses and special occasion gowns. Montage by Mon Cheri and Evenings by Mon Cheri were introduced, raising the standard for quality, style and value in special occasion dresses. Both collections have proven to be very successful and have won numerous awards. Designer Ivonne Dome joined Mon Cheri as special occasion designer for Montage, Evenings, Cameron Blake, Destinations and Ensembles. In the Spring 2001 season, Le Gala and Cameron Blake, were introduced. Le Gala fulfills the needs of the young girl with its trendy prom dresses and flirty special occasion dresses while Cameron Blake appeals to women of a mature age who still demand style and grace in their wardrobes. The Destinations by Mon Cheri collection was introduced into the marketplace for the Fall 2003 season, offering informal wedding dresses for brides marrying away from home.
In the Fall of 2003, Mon Cheri created the private label wedding dress and bridal gown collection 2be Bride. Only available in select bridal salons, 2be Bride has become a coveted, sought-after wedding dress brand for both brides and bridal salons alike. The 2be Bride collection has been featured on numerous television programs, including the premiere episode of TLC’s, “Say Yes to the Dress.” 2be Social was introduced in Spring 2008 as a private label bridesmaid dress and special occasion dress collection. Available in true, ready-to-wear sizes, every 2be Social style is available in tea and full length.
Mon Cheri continues to introduce new and exciting products. Three new collections were added in the Spring 2005 season: Cheri by Mon Cheri, Paris, and the James Clifford Collection. Cheri, a collection of Designer First Holy Communion dresses, flower girl dresses, party dresses, and special occasion dresses, is designed for both young girls and tweens. Paris’ sleek prom dresses and modern special occasion dresses are designed with attitude and sensuality. The James Clifford Collection and JCH Collection are designed by the legendary James Clifford Hjelm. A leader in the bridal fashion for decades, Jim has brought romance back to the couture bridal industry. And new for Spring 2008, the James Clifford Bridesmaids Collection is making quite an impression on the special occasion industry. Coordinating the bridal party is effortless with this collection of elegant and figure-flattering bridesmaid’s dresses available in true, ready-to-wear sizes 0 – 28.
The Fall 2005 season brought a new versatile separates collection, Ensembles by Mon Cheri, a couture mother of the bride/groom and evening wear collection, Rina di Montella and, a pageant and couture evening dress collection, Tony Bowls for Mon Cheri. Talented designer Tony Bowls is now also the designer of Le Gala, Paris and new special occasion collection, Tony Bowls Evenings.
2007 introduced even more exciting new collections including Rina di Montella bridal, Princesa by Mon Cheri, Voyagé for Destinations and the groundbreaking bridal gown collection, Sophia Tolli. After many successful years in the special occasion fashion industry, Rina di Montella premiered her first couture bridal gown collection, Rina di Montella bridal. European-inspired designs in luxurious fabrics have made this line a huge success. Princesa by Mon Cheri is designed by Ivonne Dome in honor of the ancient Hispanic tradition of celebrating a young woman's coming of age on her fifteenth birthday, the Quinceanera. Available in a myriad of colors, Princesa’s beautiful formal ball gowns are also perfect as prom dresses and special occasion dresses. After ten years as Head Designer at Maggie Sottero, Sophia Apostolides created a new bridal collection, Sophia Tolli. With its unparalleled craftsmanship and exceptional fit, the Sophia Tolli collection provides an array of gorgeous, show-stopping bridal gowns and wedding dresses.
